Für mich ein Song, für den zu entdecken ich sehr lange brauchte. Nach dem legendären Besuch im Irish Pub in San Francisco gefielen mir die Lieder der Pogues plötzlich noch besser...!? Das ist eines der besten von ihnen, ruhig, gut gesungen, einfach schön.

Wurde bereits 1986 geschrieben und von Elvis Castello produziert, 1991 dann remixed. Wunderschöner Song! Wie Uebi schon sagt eher ruhig und nachdenklich.

Ein eher untypisches Pogues Lied. Live kann sich Shayne mehr reinsteigern, dem Song tuts nichts zur Sache, ob Live oder Studio - sehr nett!

Een nummer van The Pogues dat in mijn ogen echt wel een heel hoog niveau nog weet te behalen.

Erst durch den Tod von Shane MacGowan bin ich auf diese Gruppe aufmerksam geworden. Mir ist unverständlich, warum ich sie über Jahrzehnte hinweg übersehen habe, haben sie zum Teil grandiose Lieder in ihrem Programm. Das leicht verträumt-melancholische "A Rainy Night In Soho" ist das beste Argument dafür, sich einmal näher mit ihrer Discographie zu befassen.
