Going into this, I really didn't think I would enjoy this album. The only track I knew from it (Everyday) was one that I really hated and I was thinking that the whole album would probably sound the same. I was wrong. This is a pretty decent offering and I'd be interesting in checking out some of his other stuff now. He has a really unique voice and has a different sound, incorporating a wide range of instruments and cultural sounds. He sings about different topics (even including a song about environmentalism) so he's a pretty talented dude.
The first eight tracks are really strong, but the last four let the album down with weird time registers but I was quite impressed with the album as a whole, especially since I didn't think I would like it. My favourite songs were: The Space Between and Angel. |
